<div style="text-align: center;">
She was nice enough to autograph it for me.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It's such a beautiful design. I can see this done in any number of different fabric and fiber combinations. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It's cold and snowy today, so I see myself hunkering down with my needle. Now if I can only decide which to start first!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Have a wonderful weekend.</div>

Want to end this year showing you some of my last minute finishes. I was lucky enough to be part of of<b> Country Sampler's Stacy Nash Handwork Club</b> this year. We received so many beautiful and unique kits. This pinkeep was the most recent.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHzl0CVsxMgWGy-o1Tdq4p5KhogQdT19MwVlvRD0gwvXkn22JUDfU9vtcTqSIpFccbaE-lzCZeXX0Mu3-jai68MBp4xk5OfFIUTQvzQXtlC4Dw_gs_CyfSY9ytJFxh7ACLmYUGckjTrt4/s1600/Christmas+2013+pt.+3+016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHzl0CVsxMgWGy-o1Tdq4p5KhogQdT19MwVlvRD0gwvXkn22JUDfU9vtcTqSIpFccbaE-lzCZeXX0Mu3-jai68MBp4xk5OfFIUTQvzQXtlC4Dw_gs_CyfSY9ytJFxh7ACLmYUGckjTrt4/s640/Christmas+2013+pt.+3+016.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
There is a sweet little ornament that comes with it. It will definitely get finished in 2014.<br />
<br />
I always enjoy stitching <i>Linda Lautenschlager's</i> <b>Chessie & Me </b>designs. I was fortunate enough to take one of her classes. She so interesting and informative as well as a great designer. Here is <b>Scarlet's Christmas Sampler</b>. I chose to stitch my own name at the bottom of the piece.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjepOBUjfIfxjXfOTgpBypq1G3p-I5R31Y2dJIfd_l_Wwz_Aanr9LHov5UHxRQKdBTcbXL8tSorBRobS4imrgVh2_FXJr2XxY-srz9SRczBi1KJUVlwluIWMYwBI_7oetAhSvbda0NsrYw/s1600/Christmas+2013+pt3+b+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjepOBUjfIfxjXfOTgpBypq1G3p-I5R31Y2dJIfd_l_Wwz_Aanr9LHov5UHxRQKdBTcbXL8tSorBRobS4imrgVh2_FXJr2XxY-srz9SRczBi1KJUVlwluIWMYwBI_7oetAhSvbda0NsrYw/s640/Christmas+2013+pt3+b+004.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here is a sweet little <i>Lizzie Kate</i> piece from last year that I finally got around to this year. I plan on doing her new piece from this year <b>Snow</b>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnCcxai8UOOgRXQ9HRQUGNfsrlTWjSIXXwZWKmu5zofL5zrkf9-hNmK6GxkUD_PzqVKkDxKFNVUXXnnTvcXiiCfJmxKuNxwJ9pzdfQrb_p9ktWMiq2vP79z0MZHeqvI6YkEWK44Tt_nK0/s1600/Christmas+2013+pt.+3+017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnCcxai8UOOgRXQ9HRQUGNfsrlTWjSIXXwZWKmu5zofL5zrkf9-hNmK6GxkUD_PzqVKkDxKFNVUXXnnTvcXiiCfJmxKuNxwJ9pzdfQrb_p9ktWMiq2vP79z0MZHeqvI6YkEWK44Tt_nK0/s640/Christmas+2013+pt.+3+017.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
My stitching buddies are determined to stitch <b>Christmas</b> to the very end of the year. Here's what's in my project bag now:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicUv8lZOm11vv4hh5I37s9CdnMDnB0hyphenhyphenLjIDHZl3pPZrDFhTEnriwmzRn8BCq9mQZxqmoJR-nTN9kqwKkjpp4PjzG_EBLs2OfdqW0bJK6XSK5eD5QZ4EJcn76Gaw5ZX9cjhr6EdHibEMs/s1600/Christmas+2013+pt3+b+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicUv8lZOm11vv4hh5I37s9CdnMDnB0hyphenhyphenLjIDHZl3pPZrDFhTEnriwmzRn8BCq9mQZxqmoJR-nTN9kqwKkjpp4PjzG_EBLs2OfdqW0bJK6XSK5eD5QZ4EJcn76Gaw5ZX9cjhr6EdHibEMs/s640/Christmas+2013+pt3+b+006.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It's a designe called<b> Love Letters</b> from the<i> Blackbird Designs</i> <b>Joyeux Noel</b> book. It was meant to be the cover of a Token Box, but I've decided to make it into an ornament. I'm in love with the <b>PTP</b> Dill linen that it is stitched on. Speaking of project bags I love this one from<a href="http://carolinastitcher.blogspot.com/2013/12/designer-spotlight-and-lot-more.html"> Faye</a>. She make the best bags! Love the little zipper pull and the inside is as beautiful as the outside.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2jX2D2BGsu36pXdKzeZw99bBNnHNjJ46LIj_RsRoLHYLT9mXtA9EXFHXhfNCAR2EyquXVYrVO8N8kdcQVISzfyyO-qu7u06nXAxoS3SQSlhqRtz59qC4VYGuztz_wPqfXIbo-0MMeEg8/s1600/Christmas+2013+pt3+b+008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2jX2D2BGsu36pXdKzeZw99bBNnHNjJ46LIj_RsRoLHYLT9mXtA9EXFHXhfNCAR2EyquXVYrVO8N8kdcQVISzfyyO-qu7u06nXAxoS3SQSlhqRtz59qC4VYGuztz_wPqfXIbo-0MMeEg8/s640/Christmas+2013+pt3+b+008.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I gave one to all my stitching buddies this year and they were thrilled!!! Thank you so much Faye!!!<br />
<br />
<br />
A big thanks to all my followers. I've appreciated all your wonderful comments this year. I'm wishing you each a wonderful holiday season and a healthy, happy, new year. Looking forward to a great year of stitching along with you!<br />

I was one of the fortunate ones who was able to get this darling Brenda Gervais design. And I'm really happy with the way it came together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-HvwPinieENHhy-lbDa_c_u0z1s5A2WKjeMClkgmFveyaaNW_KWmlhBdfvZ9ybjUAKomCWuuX_c-rEBfdODv6alJb3oQefmX_N6zF3EXuOvx8VTBSiPuWRsROhphar5MXbpJ941aHR2U/s1600/Snow+bird+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-HvwPinieENHhy-lbDa_c_u0z1s5A2WKjeMClkgmFveyaaNW_KWmlhBdfvZ9ybjUAKomCWuuX_c-rEBfdODv6alJb3oQefmX_N6zF3EXuOvx8VTBSiPuWRsROhphar5MXbpJ941aHR2U/s640/Snow+bird+002.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I really love this design and the fact that it's housed in this snowflake base made it even more special. Isn't that little bird's wing just the cutest!! I am definitely <b>not</b> a finisher, but Brenda's instructions make it easy for me to manage.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I have one more "find" to share with you. When I'm stitching with multi-stranded threads, I like to use a laying tool to help keep my threads from twisting. Imagine how excited I was to find this beauty:</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To say that my stitching buddies and I loved the Brenda Gervais <b>Pink Sparrow</b> design is an understatement!!! Here are four of our finished pieces framed or in the process of selecting a frame Four finishes. Each using a different fabric, stitch count, or frame. And each equally beautiful!!!! I can't help but smile when I see them all together like this!!! You know that Sesame Street song "One of these things is not like the other"? Can you spot the one that's different?? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Our friend Pat loves reproduction samplers. She tends to select designs that have a date within the pattern. Here's how she made Pink Sparrow her own:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since the original needlework dates to around 1840, she replaced two of the birds with that date!!! We were all blown away by her creativity!!!!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

Thank you for visiting. Hope you are all enjoying stitching some great Autumn designs.</div>

Perfect days to stitch for season. One of my favorite designs (and there are many) is <i><b>Beggars Night</b></i> by the wonderful<a href="http://threadworkprimitives.blogspot.com/"> Nan Lewis</a>. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I asked the ladies at the <a href="http://dyeing2stitch.com/"><i><b>Dyeing To Stitch</b></i></a> shop in Virginia Beach to kit it up for me and they sent me the most beautiful piece of Abecedarian fabric, along with the fibers and trim. I love everything about this design, but the white pumpkin made it a "must stitch" for me.</div>

I was fortunate enough to take a trip up to the Country Sampler shop in Spring Green, Wisconsin, with my stitching buddies this past weekend. They all have a wonderful eye for fabric and helped me chose the backing for this design. They also always seem to manage to find something fun with a crow design on it for me. Thanks guys!!!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Several of my stitching buddies are doing this piece, as well. What made it so much fun is the fact that we all made it our own by converting to a different linen. I used 36 count <i>Lakeside Vintage Lentil</i> and substituted CC <i>Frosted Sage</i> (1 strand of floss over two threads) for the GA Shaker <i>Lexington Green</i> .</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This sampler is undated but it is thought to be from around the 1840's. It never fails to amaze me that something so old continues to be so current. I like the thought that something that graced the walls of someones home over 170 years ago, will now find a place on mine. Yes, it was truly the perfect Summer Sampler!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hope everyone had a great summer of stitching!</div>

<br />
The button that they chose for <i><b>Simplicity</b></i> is an adorable little bee. Take my word for it, it's ti-nee tiny. I just took a close up so that you could see all the detail. And of course, they sent along a beading needle. That's the thing with<i><b> Shepherd's Bush</b></i>. Every thought is put into making this the most pleasurable stitching experience possible. <br />

Betsy's House<br />
Plum Street Samplers<br />
36 count Vintage Examplar using called for fibers<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
<i><b>Betsy's House</b></i> was such a fun stitch. I only wish the fabric color was showing up better. The fibers are so beautiful on the Examplar. I just love stitching "patriotic" pieces this time of the year, don't you?? It's not know for sure if Betsy Ross made the first American Flag, but I'd like to think so, all the same!!!</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
Another little piece that I caught my fancy this Spring is <i><b>Bouquet Violettes Et Myosotis </b></i>from the<b> Collection Tralala.</b> I stitched it on 36 count Edinborough Flax and used the DMC conversion. I'm planning on having it made into a flat fold.</div>

I really enjoy collecting and stitching all the <b>Island Cottage Needle Arts</b> Hearts. This is the<b> <i>Spring Heart</i></b> <i><b>Hop</b></i> Hanging Ornament. Just wanted to catch you up on a series that I've been stitching. It's the<i><b> Little Sheep Virtues</b></i> from<i><b> Little House Needleworks</b></i>, Shepherd's Bush's conversion. Their version includes the patterns, a gorgeous piece of Shepherd's Wood linen, over dyed fibers in their own special palette, buttons, complete directions, and needles.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
They are so much fun to stitch and each month I can't wait for the next pattern to arrive. As you can see, I'm stitching them on one piece of fabric. Here are the first three "virtues".</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5akc9AI3oKbYcuTT6wzqyO5fWmJJUlewfhZf-qmfE3MbNJs8pv63_16-LBp9qDnGwoJcrCTm1Q0wseiCHJI_git4X2c60k-k9D_rebKnUWnzSsEOEabQNktO4vjbMOuz7wlzuk6Yz3EI/s1600/April+8th+blog+post+009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5akc9AI3oKbYcuTT6wzqyO5fWmJJUlewfhZf-qmfE3MbNJs8pv63_16-LBp9qDnGwoJcrCTm1Q0wseiCHJI_git4X2c60k-k9D_rebKnUWnzSsEOEabQNktO4vjbMOuz7wlzuk6Yz3EI/s640/April+8th+blog+post+009.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
You can see some of the over dyed fibers here. I'll add the sweet buttons when I'm finished with the series. I just love the planning that went into this series. The colors looks wonderful together and I'm sure the position of the sheep facing each other on either end was no accident. Each design contains a "heart". The heart on the "Peace" sheep is too cute!!! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
There is such attention to detail with this series. Notice the cute pink ribbon that the over dyes are held together with. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'd like to thank<a href="http://carolinastitcher.blogspot.com/"> Faye</a> for bringing my attention to this wonderful little design featured in the January/February 2013<b> Just Cross Stitch</b> magazine. The original design by Sandra Sullivan of Homespun Elegance is done in Crescent Colours Belle Soie espresso. When I saw Faye's "red" conversion, I was hooked. I stitched mine using Belle Soie Sister Scarlet. I replaced the gold charm that was used on the original with the red heart in keeping with a monochromatic look. This was another design that was so much fun to stitch.</div>

Just wanted to do a quick post to update you on some of the designs that I've been stitching since my last post. <i><b>Mercy Mercy</b></i>, a new design from <b>La-D-Da</b> released at this year's Market, just spoke to me. <br />

Like so many of you, I've really been attracted to samplers with a "pop" of red. <i><b>Mary Edmondson 1812</b></i> really knocked it out of the ball park for me. It was such a joy to stitch, and like <b><i>Mercy, Mercy</i></b>, the colors really stood out.</div>

I hope you had as much fun as I did stitching for Valentine's Day this year. I found some really great designs, and best of all, some of them were already in my stash!! First are my <i><b>Tweet Hearts</b></i> from the <i><b>For My </b><b>Friend</b></i> booklet by<i><b> Blackbird Designs</b></i>. I love these little hearts. Part of the reason that they were such a joy to do was that they were stitched with <i>Simply Wool</i> fibers by <b><i>Gentle Arts</i></b>. <br />

Speaking of Nan Lewis, I joined the <i><b>Ladies Prim Society</b></i> presented by<i><b> Dyeing to Stitch</b></i>. I am so pleased with our first design. The year is quickly coming to a close so I wanted to take this opportunity to post some of my final projects. Earlier this year I stitched<i> With thy Needle & Thread's<b> Hilda's Alphabet Brew</b></i>. It was such a fun stitch that when <i><b>Letters For Santa was released</b></i>, I knew I'd be stitching this one, as well.<br />

OOPS!!! I forgot to stitch the "Y" and "Z". Better correct that before the clock strikes twelve!!! It's a really beautiful piece and hopefully that will show up next time. </div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
I have so enjoyed reading all of your blogs this year and appreciate all the support that you've shown mine. I wish you all a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!!! There are so many beautiful new designs out there that I want to stitch and I can't wait to share them with you. </div>

It indeed is cold here today in the sunny Midwest. While our neighbors to the North have experienced snow, we have not had any. We're heading for a record for going the longest without any snowfall if we get to the 16th of December. I'm still hoping to have some by Christmas. <br />
<br />
I've taken advantage of the sun today to snap some photos of recent finishes. Up to now, it's been very gloomy and I've not been able to do so.<br />

First up is a Brenda Gervais piece, <i><b>On Pins & Pumpkins</b></i>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD4cx0Y619iWxuTYpe9fECM-mqp4XH6TvRttjpAs3nqZePQ-Kelz-wk85G9lgwmYm4_rN9CKEMBya1_3xKz9J9BDTSdH2UhH92NcEfeuV2PwF4iBj9eKvSnkgZMc320sXzBmzQ8SoWUp8/s1600/Pins+&+Pumpkins+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD4cx0Y619iWxuTYpe9fECM-mqp4XH6TvRttjpAs3nqZePQ-Kelz-wk85G9lgwmYm4_rN9CKEMBya1_3xKz9J9BDTSdH2UhH92NcEfeuV2PwF4iBj9eKvSnkgZMc320sXzBmzQ8SoWUp8/s640/Pins+&+Pumpkins+004.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This was such a fun little project and I'm thrilled with how it turned out! The pumpkin stem is real, BTW. Deb is so good about finding these things! It's stitched on 40 count<i> Antique Cotton</i> linen with the called for over-dyed fibers. I really enjoyed stitching on this fabric and hope to use it again, soon.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here's my October Word Play:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmEPNbX7b87JCQFTcgc9jXzviU7pgTLHqsUUqB4q8763433xMjmG9CvEN6MCtMZ7P8o5p7QJenSAzoZb3ic5rgYXQ_ipx5BwZSlv_XisGrjovQDFSBEZNzc2lNPTy292Zuoahn1gm6noo/s1600/Pins+%2526+Pumpkins+007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmEPNbX7b87JCQFTcgc9jXzviU7pgTLHqsUUqB4q8763433xMjmG9CvEN6MCtMZ7P8o5p7QJenSAzoZb3ic5rgYXQ_ipx5BwZSlv_XisGrjovQDFSBEZNzc2lNPTy292Zuoahn1gm6noo/s640/Pins+%2526+Pumpkins+007.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I ran out of rusty pins and I really miss having them on this piece.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Wishing you all a wonderful week, filled with time to work on your favorite stitching projects!!!</div>

There are so many great patterns out there and here are two of my favorites:<br />
<br />
First up is <i><b>Threadwork Primitives</b></i>' <u><i><b>Enchanted Crow</b></i></u>.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS2qHbAH-c7XV4UHb05rf-d47VPBISLVU-xcMx_1U88sTyO0JEG3IDy-f8TDd9uQHQfjXtjGMJTwL8Pj3rn6XWBbl4ilCVd9fP_4WUo47HjtWinSGXOPZ1eZ1AY_CcW-yf60AvGBFKeuU/s1600/Halloween+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS2qHbAH-c7XV4UHb05rf-d47VPBISLVU-xcMx_1U88sTyO0JEG3IDy-f8TDd9uQHQfjXtjGMJTwL8Pj3rn6XWBbl4ilCVd9fP_4WUo47HjtWinSGXOPZ1eZ1AY_CcW-yf60AvGBFKeuU/s640/Halloween+001.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I was on a "stashing" trip with some of my stitching buddies this summer. They are all very good at seeking out every "crow" pattern ever designed and this trip was no different!!! LOL!! <a href="http://maudeandmozart.blogspot.com/">Laura</a> found this Nan Lewis design for me!! Nan also designed <u><i><b> Kringle's Crow</b></i></u> that also came home with me and is on my list for stitching this year. I stitched this on 32 count Light Mocha Belfast with the called for fibers.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
They say "go big or go home" so I had to "go" for this<i><b> With thy Needle & Thread</b></i> design<u><i><b> Hilda's Alphabet Brew</b></i></u>.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSP9OdwIctogeS1wUzyiSekVucFeahq0GW17KruMiVFjFFBblSotbyAiKVBz2KC-q9bNkwUfA1GQcLzIxQMNjchyphenhyphen0oOxzLtSbzJBXV3cHa5-4NO7iVFcn1AooDgrfoq8ml8bgQ2NbdVbA/s1600/Halloween+018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSP9OdwIctogeS1wUzyiSekVucFeahq0GW17KruMiVFjFFBblSotbyAiKVBz2KC-q9bNkwUfA1GQcLzIxQMNjchyphenhyphen0oOxzLtSbzJBXV3cHa5-4NO7iVFcn1AooDgrfoq8ml8bgQ2NbdVbA/s640/Halloween+018.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It was so much fun to stitch and went very quickly. It's done on 22 count Fine Ariosa that I first dyed with Walnut Crystals. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0hgBYDRsu8sPWS7V9lqZWXfxlT8E-lFqKB5Nk5jWSVlDCeimSw9fODV48xcWBKq7JKDxPq5BPBxYhKMMi2g9hF_zs4dlLAOncoQH8LD22Eiz8BBEB8Nhv5VjYD2DkRXf2sE5jiqTOnyw/s1600/Halloween+019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0hgBYDRsu8sPWS7V9lqZWXfxlT8E-lFqKB5Nk5jWSVlDCeimSw9fODV48xcWBKq7JKDxPq5BPBxYhKMMi2g9hF_zs4dlLAOncoQH8LD22Eiz8BBEB8Nhv5VjYD2DkRXf2sE5jiqTOnyw/s640/Halloween+019.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Finally, here's my entry way display. So bring on the "trick or treaters"!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8rXyNSm9D5zZVPx_l29jgwB7yh5XAv0uEd1deL5Z8THXsyIrK-lJ_ul5On6HO9bE1I6XjcfKtmMSBJZMPKPBrmm4V27D11u7JDyM8P3oM2kWj0exU4XYY61OK_B2TP09pLL2-lgVHnHo/s1600/Halloween+024.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8rXyNSm9D5zZVPx_l29jgwB7yh5XAv0uEd1deL5Z8THXsyIrK-lJ_ul5On6HO9bE1I6XjcfKtmMSBJZMPKPBrmm4V27D11u7JDyM8P3oM2kWj0exU4XYY61OK_B2TP09pLL2-lgVHnHo/s640/Halloween+024.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hope everyone has a wonderful week of stitching!</div>

I know everyone says this, but it's true, where did the time go?? At the time, I thought it would be a nice vehicle for me to share what I was stitching at the moment. I had no idea how generous and encouraging you'd all be. To show my gratitude,<i><b> I'd like to offer a give-a-way.</b></i> First anniversaries are usually celebrated with a gift of paper. With that in mind, I'd like to offer a gift of a pattern. Not just a pattern, but a pattern that is kitted with the called for fibers and beautiful fabric. My friend Laura has a blog called <i><b><a href="http://2012yearofsmalls.blogspot.com/">2012 Year of the Smalls.</a> </b></i>For those of you who may not be familiar with her blog, on the 15th of the month, Laura announces the name of a new pattern that she has our local needlework shop, <b><a href="http://inspiredneedle.com/">The Inspired Needle</a>,</b> kit up for all of us to stitch together. As chance would have it, this month is my turn to choose the "small". I chose the pattern, <i><b>Sunflowers and Acorns </b></i>by <i><b>Beehive Needleworks</b></i>.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;">It was designed to be a pin pillow, but I chose to frame it. I also substituted over dyed fibers for the DMC used for the sunflowers.The kit will include both the DMCs and the Gentle Arts fibers. It also comes in three different count fabrics. Take a moment to check out Laura's blog. If you are interested in having an opportunity to win "the give-a-way", please leave a comment on this post. I'll announce the randomly selected winner on July 25th., my anniversary. Good Luck, everyone!!</span></div>

On the way, we took a detour to Zionsville, Indiana to have lunch, visit a new needlework shop, and some antique shops. As I was waiting in line at Persnickety, the needlework shop, I happen to look out and see this sign:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDxz5NCxRm0ml6GFBwgv8YTkQ4T2ZFbBXA9mcmFW2rfUcxyVH9coVqOMFO2k9NKrW_L2z-A1jaUFTr86pVHY6N9tdaFUA_KUnjLJ3lrXiJhhw5v6MPa-4O_VxLKhrkSi34yap2z_enLVo/s1600/IMAG0011.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDxz5NCxRm0ml6GFBwgv8YTkQ4T2ZFbBXA9mcmFW2rfUcxyVH9coVqOMFO2k9NKrW_L2z-A1jaUFTr86pVHY6N9tdaFUA_KUnjLJ3lrXiJhhw5v6MPa-4O_VxLKhrkSi34yap2z_enLVo/s640/IMAG0011.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I followed it, knowing that a fellow "Crowe" just had to be behind it! There was. Her name is Cindy Crowe and she owns the <i><b>As the Crowe Flies Hair Salon and Boutique</b></i>. The shop was darling and so is she. We joked about being distant cousins and she insisted that I take home one of her mugs. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjziHs5FHCTTQELTJ_yI4WkxadkAv4m-csP2_5Q9E-11FFOnX6ShpboKG2uQzs_uOsrluxBcMysd1xqYhP9DE5yOxdmu2C2DyY0aHJfQ2gKzWVefehfWzvr9gpyYP8cPoUv9KSoADl840c/s1600/LindawithCup.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjziHs5FHCTTQELTJ_yI4WkxadkAv4m-csP2_5Q9E-11FFOnX6ShpboKG2uQzs_uOsrluxBcMysd1xqYhP9DE5yOxdmu2C2DyY0aHJfQ2gKzWVefehfWzvr9gpyYP8cPoUv9KSoADl840c/s640/LindawithCup.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
There is a great Youtube piece that talks about her and how she came to naming her shop. It's very cool: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSXgfZWaz3g">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSXgfZWaz3g</a>. You should check it out.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just had to have one more shot. My friends are so understanding!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Okay, enough already with the "Crowes. Here's what I just got back from Cathy at the<a href="http://inspiredneedle.com/"> Inspired Needle</a>:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
First up is a cute design from the <i><b>Souvenirs of Summer</b></i>. Pattern by <b>Blackbird Designs</b>. It's called <i><b>Summer </b><b>Song</b></i> and I love everything about it; the flag and a black bird, who could want more????</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhADf4bhG0CmKxACshJSB0tK1hV3uWcRJffhrYEbRAX0IpbM5n7oz7FikaSRS5YZy4gB3fEwHli3C9ZRiPEGv_q-tTOstHf3KBRI-g723sMMKwj3Mh2CYJTNg6lUVej-ynORLm7UBpo0gc/s1600/June+27th+blog+013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhADf4bhG0CmKxACshJSB0tK1hV3uWcRJffhrYEbRAX0IpbM5n7oz7FikaSRS5YZy4gB3fEwHli3C9ZRiPEGv_q-tTOstHf3KBRI-g723sMMKwj3Mh2CYJTNg6lUVej-ynORLm7UBpo0gc/s640/June+27th+blog+013.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I did it on 35 count Parchment fabric with the called for fibers. You can't see it, but Cathy padded it with 3 pieces of quilt batting and I love the effect.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyWxmheFoJN4cKQywZphY-oZ1qNwdczeV-Mwia4UhP7D29zpOhhFz3jdSrPdQEjbBc3WrMY_y_qQuDkU_x6F3dZgV8HMqbRQklB-snF0v3CuxyVCTcjUM4WR5aX27HLVaPqY182is57C8/s1600/June+27th+blog+017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyWxmheFoJN4cKQywZphY-oZ1qNwdczeV-Mwia4UhP7D29zpOhhFz3jdSrPdQEjbBc3WrMY_y_qQuDkU_x6F3dZgV8HMqbRQklB-snF0v3CuxyVCTcjUM4WR5aX27HLVaPqY182is57C8/s640/June+27th+blog+017.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next is <i><b>Roses in July by Needle Work Press. </b></i>It's an adaption of an antique piece. Cathy sells this pattern kitted up with the Belle Soies and the fabric. I was so happy that she did this. It saved me some money, since the pattern calls for 7 skeins of Belle Soie! It's a tiny piece, measuring only 3.6 x 3.7 inches. I'm happy with the frame because it really makes it look like my grandmother might have stitched it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Lest you think I've not been stitching since my last post, I've been busy stitching on <strong>CHS</strong> <strong><em>The Birds & The</em></strong> <strong><em>Bees</em></strong> and I've finished a very cute little little piece by <strong>Blackbird Designs</strong> called <strong><em>Summer Song. </em></strong>I dropped it and another design, <strong><em>Roses in July</em></strong>, An Adaptation of an antique by <strong>NeedleWorkPress</strong> off at Cathy's today. I hope to have pictues soon! Thank you, as always, for taking time to visit and for your wonderful comments.<br />
