Peter and Friends

I finished Peter and Peep by With thy Needle & Thread today! I love everything that Brenda Gervais designs and this pattern was no exception.

Don't you just love that look in Peter's eye, his whiskers, and that darling little chick surround by  letters ???

The cart that he's pulling with the chick is too cute!!!

Originally, I had planned on having it finished as a pillow, but those tulips reminded me of another of Brenda's pieces that I had stitched:

So off I went to my LNS,  The Inspired Needle, where Cathy helped me select a frame that would compliment my other piece.

This is what we decided on:

I think they'll look great hanging next to each other!!! BTW, I stitch Peter and Peep on 36 count R&R French Vanilla linen with the called for fibers. I would however, if I thought about it at the time, have stitched Peter with a wool fiber. I think the texture would have really looked cool.

In closing, I like to show you my April Word Play by none other than Brenda Gervais!!!

Hope everyone is having a great Spring!
Linda

  1. Oh gosh, how fabulous!!! Yes, I love Brenda Gervais' designs too. Peter and Peep is precious! I may very well have to buy that chart. Love the April Wordplay too. And the frame you picked for Peter and Peep is wonderful! Love the other piece as well! Such eye candy. Sigh....

  2. LOVE your finish Linda and the frame is just so perfect ! I really loved seeing cathy - I email her all the time about my orders but seeing her is nice - she is cute as a button. I hope you won't be mad I stole your idea of doing Peter in wool - I have not gotten to him yet and I have lots of beautiful Gloriana Lorikeet wool on hand - I think that idea rocks ! BTW - did you use the shaker white on the cart trim ? I am contemplating pulling mine out because it just sinks into the linen - I am using the same 36ct french vanilla you are using and I love how it is looking except for that one issue. Hope you get your piece back soon so you can enjoy it during the spring. Gees - I might just have to send Cathy some framing one day. Enjoy! melody

  18. Hi Linda. Both of your finishes are on my "to do" pile. I love them both. I wasn't sure of the fabric I would use for Peter and Peep. Now you have me thinking about having it framed and the wool fiber!! hmm. I am very excited about meeting Cathy of the IN. The Needlework show in NH is just a couple of weeks away now. You are so fortunate to have such a lovely shop so close to you.
